I rarely post while reading a book, but I’m making an exception for this great one, it’s You’re Not You by Michelle Wildgen.

One might think that a book about someone who just sort of lets life happen, doesn’t make many plans, and questions her college major repeatedly, just happens to land a job as a caregiver for a woman with ALS, wouldn’t be an interesting book.

The book is a first time effort for Michelle Wildgen, but it reads like something written by someone as seasoned as say Joy Fielding. (Read the First Time for a book also on a woman with ALS).

We get to know the characters, and I care for Kate, I hope to read as many good things as i can about her shortened life, before the book ends.

If you want a book that will make you lose sleep, consider ordering take out meals, and a book that mesmerizes and you just don’t want to put it down, grab this great book!

Happy reading y’all

Have you ever tried an online dating service?

Would you prefer to read about it than experience any of the above?

I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced book, written in texts, emails, instant messages and tweets.

Izabel, Peter, Marty and Anna, Annette, and Elizabeth all connect, among a few others mentioned in this witty book. I really laughed at some of the “crazy emails” the ladies got from the dating sites. It’s a book about love, found, lost, and even a triangle, family and friendship.

I felt like I could be reading about the people across the street, the characters were so “real”.

A great debut by a new and upcoming author

happy reading!!

Joy Fielding rarely disappoints, and Now You See Her is no exception.
It’s a fairly long book, 357 pages, and if you are unlike me, and have a few afternoons or one evening, then this book moves along rapidly.

Marcy and her daughter have a strained relationship until one night the daughter storms out into the night, to go on a camping and canoe trip. This begins the nightmare for Marcy, She is the only person who does not believe that her daughter Devon perished on that trip. Her body was never found. So while her husband and sister are convinced, she is not, she sees Devon everywhere. her husband decides he’s had enough and leaves her.
Marcy decides to go on the scheduled 25th anniversary trip to Ireland- alone. she sees Devon over there and can’t believe she’s dead.

This is all on the front flap, so nothing was divulged here that wasn’t there.

Now the journey of the book is this- is Devon dead or alive??

I will let the phenomenal Ms. Fielding take you on that journey, but I will say that I turned pages furiously and as quickly as I could with such a jam packed life got in the way time, where all I wanted to do was read, but life said No.

The ending surprised me, which was great since I figured out Whispers and Lies way too soon (hated that ending too by the way).

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves an on the edge of your seat, page turner.

An excellent book in my opinion.

I’m truly hoping March will ease up and let me read some more than I did last month.

Happy reading!!

february

2-4 #24. The 10 cupcake romance M L Kennedy 170– I did a small review over at Goodreads (luvbooks7 is where you can find me)- but I’ll say a bit about it here too- Amy Miller has many many crushes, she adores cupcakes as much as boys. Her friend realizes that Amy has a problem when she finds her eating an entire box of cupcakes. Something must be done to help Amy. Sharon’s parents are therapists and they recommend writing a book instead of devouring cupcakes. Sharon is a great friend, she comes armed with research, a self help book by another therapist, and 2 romance novels. Amy dutifully reads the books but she doesn’t find them helpful. However she does like the idea of writing a book, writing comes easily for her. So she and Sharon come up with ideas, their classmates are all too willing to share their own relationship experiences be they real or fantastical, and a book becomes more realistic for Amy. Then she meets Simon, the new guy from England. she casts him as the romantic hero and begins to write. Of course there were some surprises in the book, but overall it was a cute light read.
2-5 #25. Kimchi and Calamari Rose Kent 220–an adopted boy gets a class assignment to write about his ancestors.

2-6 #26. HQ Blaze # 600 Inevitable Michelle Rowen 219–postions, ghosts, a mystery, and steam, I rated this one very high.
2-6 #27. Shivers the enchanted attic M D Spencer 122- this series looks similar to Goosebumps. 2 sisters go on an adventure, exploring their new attic.
2-6 #28. Hidden Dotti Enderle - 104 — mystery, clues, hidden letter, treasure and an old murder…..
